Chasity Lei Lani Sargent November 6, 2001 – April 11, 2019
Chasity Lei Lani Sargent, 17 resident of Newport, Oregon, passed away due to sudden cardiac arrest on April 11, 2019 at Randall Children's Hospital. She was born on November 6, 2001 in Lincoln City, Oregon to parents Josh Anderson and Linda Hitchcock.
Chasity was a Junior at Newport High School, where she flourished as a member of multiple clubs such as Junior Optimist, College Bound, and Interact clubs. Chasity was on the Golf Team in her Sophomore year, and had recently started her first job at Starbucks which was a perfect fit with her upbeat, positive, and outgoing nature.
Chasity enjoyed decorating, travel (even though she would get homesick a few days into the trip), writing, drawing, and being around little kids. She also enjoyed winning by using her extremely competitive nature in playing golf, board and card games where she could. Chasity loved music and could easily memorize lyrics.
Chasity spent most of her free time with family, friends and her boyfriend. Chasity never liked seeing anyone sad and would go out of her way to lift their spirits. Chasity did not tolerate anyone treating someone poorly, and her vision was to grow up and make a positive impact on her community.
Chasity is survived by Mother Linda Hitchcock (Ben King); Father Josh Anderson (Cassie), brothers Kai, Conner, Wesley and sister Ella; Grandmother Cosetta Reel (Wayne); Great Grandparents William and Nellye Elliott; many aunts and uncles, and her treasured cousins.
