The Bay City Cruisers Car Club and Newport’s O’Reilly Auto Parts kicked off their Cars and Coffee event on Saturday, with a strong first event attendance.
Cars and Coffee events are held around the world to give proud car owners the chance to show off their fine machinery. While some events focus on modern models or certain makes, the Bay City Cruisers’ policy for these events is that any car that is “not your everyday driver” is welcome, whether classic or specialty. Cars and Coffee at O’Reilly will continue on the first Saturday of each month until October.
The Cruisers are a local nonprofit organization that has been active in the community since 1984. They meet at the Newport Elk’s Lodge on the third Saturday of each month. Their annual Cars at the Coast Show will take place at the Newport Performing Arts Center on Saturday, July 20.
