Cannabis workshops offered for seniors

Cannabis products are becoming a hot topic among adults in their golden years. People are invited to attend an informal workshop for seniors (age 60 and older) to learn about the challenges and benefits of using medical and/or recreational cannabis.

Attendees will gain a better understanding of safe dosages, storage, variety of products, drug interactions, combining with opioids or other prescription drugs, review of research, differences between THC and CBD and the importance of consulting your physician.

Sessions will be held in June at the following locations, and a free, light dinner will be served:

  • Wednesday, June 12, at the Toledo Public Library, 173 NW Seventh St.
  • Tuesday, June 18, at the Newport Public Library, 35 NW Nye St.
  • Wednesday, June 26, at Seashore Family Literacy Center for Learning, 265 Bay St., Waldport,

For planning purposes, people are asked to register by selecting the date and location they will attend. This can be done online at

These workshops are sponsored by the Partnership Against Alcohol & Drug Abuse (PAADA). For more information, email Don McDonald at [email protected] or call 541-574-7890.
