Candidate forum on the environment

A group of Lincoln County residents are sponsoring a virtual Candidates’ Forum on the Environment coming live to your home or office from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, on the Zoom webinar platform.   

The event will feature 14 candidates for state and local offices. Each candidate will have six minutes to speak. The confirmed speakers include:

• State Rep. Dave Gomberg for House District 10;

• Max Sherman for House District 10;

• Melissa Cribbins for State Senate District 5;

• Lincoln County Commissioner Claire Hall for Lincoln County commissioner;

• Joe Hitselberger for Lincoln County commissioner; 

• Newport Mayor Dean Sawyer for Newport mayor;

• Sandra Roumagoux for Newport mayor;

• City Councilor Dietmar Goebel for Newport City Council;

• City Councilor Cynthia Jacobi for Newport City Council;

• City Councilor Beatriz Bottello for Newport City Council;

• Ryan Perry for Newport City Council;

• Leslie Vaaler for Yachats mayor;

• Greg Scott for Yachats City Council;

• Greg Holland for Waldport mayor;

• Mayor Rod Cross for Toledo mayor.

Attendees will be able to post written questions to the candidates, which may or may not be answered depending upon the available time. Attendees will also be able to participate in the chat session.
