Candace Cynthia Latimer, April 10, 1946 – November 25, 2020

Candace (Candy to most) moved to Waldport with her four children from Portland, Oregon in 1974. She thrived in this small community with her love of family and friends. Candy loved and played softball for years earning several awards. She headed up Beachcomber Days for many years as well as family reunions, family parties, and many other special events. She was fun, creative, energetic, and was the total “go to gal”. She had the gift of making every celebration magical and making everyone feel special.
Candy worked at Patterson’s True Value for over a decade before going to work for Charles & Esther Battles at Battles Construction. She eventually moved into the banking industry and retired from Umpqua Bank in 2008.
Candy adored her husband and over the past 35 years made so many wonderful memories of riding 4-wheelers, fishing, and card playing with dear friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon Lee Larsen, and son, Thomas Jay Larsen, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, sister, Sharon Miller; brothers, Jack Lawrence and Terry Lawrence; daughters Nanette (Wes) Woolworth and Dana Metcalf; sons, Todd (Bonnie) Larsen, Tedd (Ronni) Larsen, Darrin (Karen) Latimer; 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Family was everything to Candy and she frequently stated “I have so much love to give” and she sure did! We will always carry a piece of her in our hearts as she taught us all the true meaning of love.
The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
