The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting and awards banquet on Friday, June 21. The event, themed “Summer Solstice Soiree,” included presentations of awards and recognition of the incoming and outgoing chamber board of directors.
JC Market Newport was selected as the 2018-2019 Business of the Year, and Steve and Sonja Lovas were awarded Business Person(s) of the Year. Employee of the Year was awarded to Carmen Mendoza of the Hallmark Resort Hotel, and Beautification Award of the Year was presented to both The Medication Station and Oregon Coast Bank.
The Don Rowley Spirit of Service Award was awarded to Frank Geltner, and the Ambassador of the Year was given to Lisa Kellenberger. The President’s Award, presented by outgoing Board President Richard O’Hearn, was given to Susan Beck. The City of Newport also presented the City Employee of the Year Award to Jovita Ballentine
