Bulter, Shawver are partners in crime

MONROE — Some of the best wrestling matches in the county may go unnoticed even though they happen nearly every day, yet never happen during dual meets or tournaments. The Siletz Valley practice partners of Isaac Butler and Patrick Shawver have secured their spot in the state championship with first-place finishes in their weight classes. “It’s good being able to go to state with a couple of teammates beside you,” Shawver said. Siletz Valley will send four wrestlers to state. Kenneth Johnston Jr. and Joshley Howell will join Butler and Shawver in two weeks at the Memorial Coliseum. “I thought our best tournament was today,” said head coach Reggie Butler Jr. “Our kids came in and wrestled hard, I was really proud of how they wrestled.”
