BREAKING: Beverly Beach crash was fatal

A Depoe Bay resident died in a Sunday afternoon crash that injured five others.

At approximately 3:52 p.m., Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near Beverly Beach.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a red Chrysler Sebring, operated by Jackie Dean, 53, of Depoe Bay, was northbound when it hit the highway guardrail, crossed the centerline, and struck a southbound gray Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Pedro Segura, 42, of Salem.

Dean sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Segura and his four passengers — two adults and two juveniles — were transported to area hospitals with injuries.

OSP was assisted by ODOT, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Lincoln County DA's Office, Lincoln County Medical Examiner, and the Newport Fire Department.
