How do you get a book published? Sue Fagalde Lick will offer the nitty-gritty answers in “Book Publishing 101” at the Feb. 22 joint meeting of Willamette Writers’ Coast and Corvallis chapters.
The meeting, which starts at 6:30 p.m., will be presented online via Zoom. Register at https://www.willamettewriters.org.
Lick, author of 11 published books, will discuss the differences between traditional publishing, hybrid publishing and self-publishing, how to approach each one, and how to decide which path is right for your book. With experience in all three methods of publishing, she will share the advantages and disadvantages of each method and the hard truths about money, sales and marketing.
A longtime journalist in the California bay area, Lick earned her MFA in creative nonfiction from Antioch University Los Angeles at age 51. She has published many articles, essays and poems since she moved to Oregon in 1996. Co-chair of the Coast Chapter of Willamette Writers and vice president of Oregon Poetry Association, she lives with her dog, Annie, in South Beach.
