Allen proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1970-1972 as an infantry rifleman in South Vietnam and Germany. He was an all around true Oregonian. He loved everything his home state offered him from fishing on the rivers to hunting in the mountains. In his younger days, he was a long haul truck driver. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing with his RC cars, planes and boats. He was an all around family man. He was close to everyone from family to friends, and he looked forward to all the family gatherings where he could spend time with everyone from the older generation to the youngest. He was quite the jokester. He always had a story to tell and could always put a smile on a person’s face.
