Alberta Lee Werder

October 2, 1932 – September 21, 2018

Alberta Lee Werder, 85, was born in Seattle, WA, October 2, 1932 to Albert and Margaret White. The family moved to Eddyville when she was a child where she attended Eddyville School. After graduation from Eddyville High School in 1950, and she began her career with Pacific Northwest Bell, in Newport where she retired in 1982. She was an active member of The First Presbyterian Church in Newport. She led the church youth group with her husband, Harvey. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was the best Grandma a child could have.
Alberta is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Werder, Jr. Survivors include daughter, Cheryl Lalack (Bill); son, Jeffrey Werder (Julie); sisters: Kay Larson of Albany, Mary Harmsen of Nashville and brother Karl. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Tyler Lalack, (Lauren), Brandon Werder (Mindy), Veronica Rushing (Clarence), Molly Werder, Nate Werder, Mattie Werder; and great grandchildren: Mosier and Barrett.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm Friday, October 12th in the First Presbyterian Church in Newport, Oregon. In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting memorial contributions be made to: P.E.O. Sisterhood for the scholarship program for young women in care of the church 227 NE 12th St. Newport, OR 97365. The Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center is caring for the family.
