Michele Redmond will present “A Trip to the Old Country: Northeastern Slovakia 2018” during the next meeting of the Lincoln County Genealogical Society, which will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, in Toledo.
Redmond will report on her voyage to the land of her mother’s ancestors. In addition to showing some of the sights from this little-known but beautiful country, she will discuss the experiences of meeting some long-lost cousins, visiting the home village and seeing some historical buildings that revealed a bit of how her ancestors lived — shedding some light on the 1869 Hungarian census.
Redmond has worked on the central European part of her genealogy on and off for more than 20 years and most recently has been studying the culture of that area.
The meeting will be held at the Toledo Public Library, 173 NW Seventh St., in the downstairs meeting room — entrance off the side parking lot. Everyone is welcome to attend.
