9-ball wizards

Toledo residents Brenda Polendey, Robyn Krohn and Jeremy Jordan of the team, “Holy Shots,” shared trophies and cash after defeating a team called “Good Job Lee,” during a northwest regional billiards tournament at Chinook Winds Casino and Resort in Lincoln City Oct. 13-20. More than 1,000 players from around the northwest descended on the popular casino for the twice-yearly tournament sanctioned by the Western Billiards Congress of America. Nine-ball pocket billiards has long been considered the “money game” of pool and is the dominant tournament game in professional pool. Played on a six-pocket table with 10 balls, the object is to legally pocket the 9-ball after sinking the lowest-numbered balls. (Courtesy photo)
