OTTER ROCK — A 75-year-old Newport man who was trapped in the wreckage of a two-car collision has succumbed to his injuries, raising potential criminal charges against the driver who spun into his lane Saturday, June 9.
According to the Oregon State Police, Robert Anthony Franano, the sole occupant of a 2000 Lincoln sedan, died in a hospital Monday, June 11. Firefighters from Depoe Bay worked for 30 minutes to remove Franano from his 2000 Lincoln sedan, damaged in the 9:15 a.m. accident near milepost 132 on U.S. Highway 101.
